Firewall Setup
AppSwitcher is 100% offline — it never connects to the internet, has no telemetry, and performs no auto-updates. That said, you are welcome to block it in your firewall as an extra layer of assurance. It will continue to work perfectly.
Windows Defender Firewall
Section titled “Windows Defender Firewall”- Open Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security (search for it in the Start menu).
- Click Outbound Rules → New Rule.
- Select Program → Next.
- Browse to the AppSwitcher executable (e.g.
C:\Program Files\AppSwitcher\AppSwitcher.exe). - Select Block the connection → Next.
- Apply the rule to Domain, Private, and Public profiles.
- Give the rule a name (e.g.
Block AppSwitcher) and click Finish.
Verifying with a Network Monitor
Section titled “Verifying with a Network Monitor”If you want to verify that AppSwitcher makes no connections, you can use a tool like Wireshark or GlassWire and filter by the AppSwitcher process. You should see no outbound traffic under normal use.
