Troubleshooting

Check that AppSwitcher is running. Look for the tray icon. If it’s not there, launch AppSwitcher from the Start menu or install location.

Verify the hotkey is correctly set up. Open Settings from the tray icon and make sure the hotkey is assigned to the correct application.

Check the logs. In the Settings window, go to the About tab where you can open the logs folder. Look for any error messages when you press the hotkey. Report any issues you find on the GitHub repository.

If the application was moved to a different location or updated, the path in AppSwitcher may be stale. To fix this, open the settings and re-add the application. This updates the path to the correct executable.

If you have multiple windows of the same app open, AppSwitcher cycles through them in the order Windows reports them. This order may not match what you expect but it should be consistent as long as you don’t open or close windows of that app.

The icon may be hidden in the overflow area. Click the ^ arrow on the taskbar to reveal it. To keep it visible, drag it onto the main taskbar.

If the icon is missing entirely, AppSwitcher may have crashed. Check Task Manager for a running AppSwitcher.exe process, or simply relaunch the app. If the app crashed, please report the issue on the GitHub repository.

This is expected for new independent releases. Click More infoRun anyway. AppSwitcher is open source — you can review the full source code on GitHub before running.
